ONE: May the peace of Christ be with you.
ALL: And also with you.

ALL: In the weeks after the resurrection, the disciples continued their practice of gathering to eat together.
ONE: In every meal, they would remember their living and risen Lord.
ALL: They would study scriptures, and make plans for how they should live.
ONE: Even now, we gather every week for celebration and remembrance.
ALL: Every time we gather together, Christ comes among us to teach us how to walk in his way.

ONE: All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God; yet God is merciful as well as just, quick to hear and to forgive. Let us then boldly confess our sins before God:
ALL: God of glory, you have proved yourself to us over and over again, and still we doubt. You have offered us the bread of life, yet we have gorged ourselves on that which does not nourish. You have given us the cup that releases us from sin, and yet we cling to so many of our sins with self-righteousness and without repentance. For these and every way we sin against you, we ask your forgiveness.

ONE: Christ lived for us. Christ died for us. Christ rose for us. Friends, hear and believe the good news of the gospel: in Jesus Christ we are forgiven.
ALL: Hallellujah! Amen!

Our Father who art in Heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.

O God, open our ears to your teaching, so that our mouths can learn to sing your praise, our feet can learn to follow your steps, and our hands can do your work in this world.
