Welcoming | My Peace (As we return to our seats.) | Rev. Christine Dickerson |
Eternal God, you are our rock. You remind us by your presence that we are loved and special. You gave us the gift of your only son, that we might be reconciled to you and live into your hope for us, a hope that in truth is love and grace. We remember on this first Sunday of Lent that we walk towards the cross every day of our lives, and are humbled that Jesus would suffer so we would have life. Forgive us when we forget. forgive us when we are too proud to kneel before you. forgive us when we don't reach out a hand to a fellow traveller. Let us be renewed in our faith and actions as we begin this Lenten journey, each day aware that our goal is the Cross, where we will touch the feet of our Savior, and raise our faces in joy. We pray in his name, Amen. |

Passing of the Peace | How Great Thou Art | Congregation |
Our Father who art in Heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen. |

Prelude | Gloria Patri | Praise Band |
God, source of all light, by your Word you give light to the soul. Pour out upon us the spirit of wisdom and understanding, that, through the Scriptures, our hearts and minds may be opened to know your will in our lives. Amen. |
